Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a Home Improvement Center that accepts and resells quality new,used and surplus building materials and household goods. ReStore supports reuse and recycling, and the funds generated support Habitat for Humanity building projects. They are an environmentally friendly store that makes sense!
The HFHGB ReStores
and Build staff and volunteers combined their “green” philosophy to become
recipients of the prestigious Rio Tinto Alcan Sustainable Homes award in 2009. We are equally proud that our
ReStores have recently been officially designated as an
Ontario Electronic Recycler for the Grey Bruce counties.
From time to time areas of the ReStore may be filled and as a result we are temporarily unable to accept some items. Customers should always call first to find out what we are taking and what we are not able to take.
The ReStore has both a pick up truck and a panel van with which to pick up donations from customers, businesses and contractors. We can now respond to customers requests on a regular basis, if required. If you would like to make a donation and are unable to drop it off using your own vehicle, give us a call!
What can I expect to find?
You can expect things like: windows, doors, hardware, tools, lighting fixtures, plumbing parts, bathroom fixtures,
indoor/outdoor furniture and even cabinetry! Items are donated daily so each trip will bring you something new! For the do-it-yourselfer, the ReStore is the first place to visit for inexpensive renovations.
What materials can I donate?
You can donate reusable building materials such as the items listed above,
furniture and Electronic waste such as computers, computer peripherals, screens
as well as televisions and office or business furniture. Donations are accepted daily at any one of our
63 ReStores across the country, so instead of throwing your old tools and materials in the garbage, call your local ReStore to find out if your materials can be used somewhere else! If you are unable to fit larger items into your car or truck, the ReStore will arrange a time to come and pick the items up directly from your home.
Retailers and manufacturers can donate end-of-line, scratch-and-dent, discontinued inventory, paint mis-tint and customer returns to their closest ReStore and avoid the cost of returning them to the manufacturer.
Can I volunteer at a ReStore?
Volunteers are an integral part of our ReStores' success! Consider volunteering at your local ReStore, and help support building in your local community. Approach your local ReStore or your local Affiliate to inquire about helping out. Thanks very much for your time!
